‘She is Such a Drama Queen’. This is the title that MariaSanz has chosen for their Summer 2015 collection. This season, her vintage creations are infused with fun, cool and dramatic personality. There are stunning open kimonos as well as short and long wraps which are destined for women who are strong, confident and free from stereotypes. She may be the Queen of Drama, but she is powerful and self-confident, with a firm, and impressive personality.
The antagonism of the theme appears in volumes – sometimes straight, sometimes extravagant – and the different trims and cuts of the sleeves and lengths of the pieces. There are also contrasts between fabrics and linings, too. The theme is also highlighted in a varied color pallet, which wanders between pastels and bright colors, from soft to mysterious.
The garments are made with the finest materials, mainly using pure or mixed silk. Line #1 of the collection consists of 100% silk kimonos which are unique and numbered, long and smooth and have an ethnic flavour. Line #2 brings urban kimonos for day to day wear, short and in varied shapes, made of pure silk, mixed silk or viscose. Line #3, ‘Party Cool’, has wrap kimonos, both long and short, mixed silk, pure silk and Jersey.
MariaSanz’s prints are all unique and developed by the designer herself. Her irreverent personality is a trade mark in all her designs. She offers a varied, original and unpretentious range of kimonos that can be used both at home, as loungewear, or at events and parties.
