The designer Irá Salles stands out in Brazilian fashion for her original work with a strong Brazilian and identity.
Graduated for the Parsons School of Design in New York, she worked in Carolina Herrera’s studio, but began her creation of bags while living in New York and started producing a few pieces. Her friends liked it and some stores started to place orders. Since then she has not stopped.
The basis of her bag’s shapes are technical manuals, through the crochet embroidery. With this manual appeal, the pieces become very exclusive for the work and for their flawless finish. Their trims, leather and colors are developed exclusively based on research and themes that inspire the designer to seek a line that is unique. The best stores in the world are enchanted with the work of Ira and among its customers are Isetan (Japan), Bloomidagles (Dubai), Brown Thomas (Dublin), Fred Segal (Los Angeles) and Le Bon Marché (Paris).
The brand Irá Salles stands out in Brazilian fashion as one of the only Brazilian brands with original design, with identity and quality. It is the only Brazilian brand to be part of the world's greatest bags Museum in Amsterdam. The piece’s development process is made in partnership with cooperatives of local embroiderers, who have in their hands this increasingly extinct art comparing with mass production.
Irá also develops a social work with patients of José Silveira Foundation, empowering and training them for the development of products that have the proceeds going to the cure of breast cancer. Her celebrity clients parade her pieces through magazines and websites around the world such as Juliana Paes, Adriane Galisteu, Grazi Mazzafera and Naomi Campbell.
The customer’s profile is a person who appreciates exclusivity and has a mature style.
