Valdemar Iodice’s love by fashion started early in his life: he used to watch his mother’s fine sewing give new shape to the family’s clothes. As a child, Valdemar followed in his Italian family’s footstep and joined the family business of ready-to-wear clothes; where he learned how to create and develop clothes, and all the technical aspects.
Valdemar launched his label IÓDICE in 1987, creating a now-well-known trademark with his last name. As a perfectionist with an attention to detail, the designer is personally involved in every stage of the creative process. He oversees every aspect of each collection, from the choice of textiles and color scales to the organization of fashion shows and advertising campaigns.
Under Valdemar Iodice’s creative management, the label began as women’s contemporary collection, later expanding the to include women’s jersey dresses, men prêt-a-porter, denim and accessory lines, Defining its style through a high end line called VALDEMAR IÓDICE. It is not easy to describe IÓDICE’S style in a few words. For Valdemar, the world is comprised of sensations, traditions and culture. The main essence of his work is to be constantly connected to the world and to people’s attitudes. His inspiration and creativity are instinctively nurtured by whatever surrounds him. He wishes to unveil the unknown and searches for eternal icons that move him. Above all, his inspiration comes from the cheerful and colorful Brazilian way of life.
IÓDICE’s first fashion show took place at Estúdio Cinematográfico Adrenalina, in Sao Paulo and this show has grown to become an annual presentation of Sao Paulo Fashion Week. IÓDICE’s first store opened at Shopping Iguatemi in 1998, elegantly blending architectural design and fashion. Another notable moment was March of 2001, when Valdemar Iodice opened his first flagship store on the highly acclaimed Oscar Freire street - the hot spot of Latin American fashion. Valdemar’s designs are spread throughout three floors. In February 2008 IÓDICE debuted their first US runway show during New York Fashion Week at the Salon in Bryant Park.

The brand is also represented in 500 multi-label stores throughout Brazil.
