The research trip of Cecilia Prado Winter 2015 started with obligatory stop on the most fascinating and surprising cities of Argentina, a Country extremely rich in culture that served as reference to the new collection. Ethnic inspiration with a boho feel make the predominant factor in Cecilia Prado inspiration mood board, who chooses not to be literal but interprets the theme broadly and authentically, including the Brazilian DNA.
Through the variants of its knitting and crochet techniques, the brand transforms the tribal woven, traditional of argentine cowboys, into glamorous shapes of the 50’s. The image is of a strong and sensual woman who values femininity.
In Cajal and Arabesco Floral lines we will see pencil skirts, peplum tops and bandage dresses fitted to the body – many of hem with strategic neckline and details on the sides that define the silhouette. The Tango line brings styles with tribal bands forming pants, skirts – both long and short – blouses and coats.
A detailed work with woof, results in a very special and detailed feather print. Therewith, it appears casual pieces of the Cocar line, with charming ponchos, ample dresses, flares and midi skirts purposed with long sleeve cropped tops, all in predominant red and blue shades. The Cocar Deluxe line offers more elaborated styles due to rayon that provides a shiny and special touch.
The Destroyed effect from the line with the same name is obtained by an innovative technique giving a washed finishing similar to jeans. This new process is smoother than the one denim goes through due to the delicacy of the raw material that requires double attention and manual work so that there are no damages, resulting in special and unique creations. Among the styles are bombers, miniskirts and cardigans with bows, giving a romantic feel to the collection. Many types of fringes, in different materials and lengths, are highlighted not only on the hem of the clothes but also along the seams.
The uniqueness of the collection is definitely out of the ordinary going straight to women’s wish list. The vests made by a mix of threads – matte and shiny – are the best options for a very different production. The maxi cardigan, super long, imposing and dramatic, works as an impacting dress either solid or printed. The color chart offers strong shades – red, pink, forest green, that are harmonized with sober shades as navy, rust, beige and black.
