At the edge of the pool, stories are born one never forgets. Childhood memories, torrid romances, tender loves, disagreements and reconciliations. Pools also inspire memorable art works, such as those by David Hockney or excellent films, such as Jacques Deray's La Piscine featuring Alain Delon, Romy Schneider and Jane Birkin, or Bernardo Bertolucci's Stealing Beauty starring Liv Tyler and Jeremy Irons. It's in such a space, at their house in Bahia, that joint owners Juju and Maya have been spending their best moments since childhood and where they found the references for Isolda's Resort 18 Collection.
The tiles, the hues of the water illuminated by the afternoon sun, the charming and colorful garden that surrounds it ... every detail was translated into the collection's prints, shapes and finishes. A pastel color chart prevails for both the blank and the printed pieces, which this season were designed based on oil paintings as well, a new technique added to the traditional watercolors. The results are light, feminine and convey a strong attitude; they were translated into silk, linen, cotton, organza and tulle models. The latter one was included for the first time in the brand's racks.
Daisies and stripes in candy hues color the dresses, skirts and frilly blouses. The Birds print shows a spoonbill, roses, blackberry flowers and cacti. Luau features an illuminated sky next to small frogs at dawn and precious stones. The Tiles subject displays hues of blue, tiles, porcelain and fish.
Pieces made of tricoline add to the typical casual elegance of the brand, whereas the long dresses are perfect for party nights. Bodies migrate from the water to the walks outside the yard and very thin fabric strips make up the handmade macramé used to make skirts and tops, some of them finished with pearl straps. All is light, ideal, perfect for another unforgettable summer by the pool.
