Martha dives into her dna and the memories of her childhood in her new collection, the Sertao Northeastern region from its arid moment to the sunset on the São Francisco River. The stylist bets on earthy tones and red inspired by the canyons and their color variations, the sky blue, the sunset and also the color cell. This refers to Espedito Seleiro and his ornate leather that was worn by Lampião and his cangaceiros.
The patches, strong influence in the last collection appear in the summer repaginados with elements of the sertão; Northeastern birds, vegetation and plants such as cacti, in renaissance lace and with clipping simulating woodcuts. This is another universe in the region explored by Martha, the technique that consists of carving wooden drawing talk with the artisan work of the lace of the stylist.
The sunset print with the nuances of blue to orange is found in silk giving it freshness and increases the mix beyond the traditional renaissance lace that first appears in a blazer all made of material and also applied in tweed dresses and suits.
Among the trends that stand out are the ruffles, the shoulder marked with buffing sleeves mainly in the party line and the corsets present on the busts and waists.
According to Martha "The Sertao is more than a scorching sun, it's a state of mind, a place of strong women." It's these strong women who inspire and that Martha wears in her summer of 2018.
