Brazilian designer Samuray Martins' AKRA project debuts at Amsterdam Fashion Week
Brazilian designer Silvia Furmanovich won the "Best in Innovative" category at the Couture Design Awards, which is part of the Couture trade show in Las Vegas. This is the third time that Silvia Furmanovich has had one of her award-winning creations in the innovation category.
The winning piece in this edition was a clutch made with Obi cloth (Japanesesash for traditional Japanese dress, keikogi (uniforms for Japanese martial arts), and part of kimono outfits), wood marquetry, 18k gold, diamonds and tourmalines. "It is a great honor to celebrate all the Brazilian artisans involved in my collections, and to expose their meticulous and innovative work to an international audience," says Silvia.
