BRAZIL LANDS ON COTERIE WITH 17 FASHION AND ACCESSORIES BRANDS
In 2017, American fashion designer Rick Owens contacted the Vert team in Paris to suggest a collab. Owens thought that Vert was the greenest shoe brand he could find. For VERT, it was the opportunity to work with an inspiring mind from a different universe, which at first glance seems to be totally contrasting with the brand’s vision. However, both converge to go beyond trends and to look for new creations and technical innovations.
"I have absolutely no authority to promote sustainability, but I endorse the idea of thinking and planning a future with kindness in mind. We all have to start from somewhere," says Rick Owens.
The sneaker was designed in tandem with the two design teams, using new technologies of the VERT Running project and Rick Owens attitude, VERT x Rick Owens is a more than special sneaker. The sole is made of 45% bio-base, made up of banana oil, sugar cane and rice husks, complemented with L-FOAM a material developed by Vert's team from native Amazonian latex and EVA. The vamp is made of 3D mesh made from recycled plastic bottles, seamless, soft and breathable. Combining technology and design, VERT x Rick Owens shoes are available exclusively at Cartel 011 in São Paulo.

Since 2005, VERT has been producing sneakers in a different manner, impacting each stage of production in a positive way. The sneakers are made of organic cotton, native rubber from the Amazon rainforest and innovative fabrics such as recycled plastic bottles.
