ABEST introduces SERPUI brand to PROJECT WOMENS
The fifth edition of the Veste Rio event will take place in Rio de Janeiro from April 10 to 15, with promotion by Revista Ela, published by O Globo newspaper, in partnership with Vogue Brazil and presented by Senac-RJ. The event will welcome a group of 11 buyers and three journalists from abroad, at the invitation of the Texbrasil (Brazilian Textile and Fashion Industry Internationalization Program) and Fashion Label Brasil programs. These programs are respectively the result of partnerships between Abit (Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association) and Abest (Brazilian Association of Fashion Designers) with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).
Veste Rio brings together major brands and big names in Brazilian fashion, with a trade show, outlet, talks and fashion shows. Guest buyers checking out the biggest trends for S/S 2018/2019 are Mafalda Paul (Andrea Costa); Alejandra Montaner (Alejandra Montaner); Dina Ghorayeb (Fashion Jardim); Sarah Habib (Villa Baboushka); Maria Williams (Net-A-Porter); Cori Elizabeth French and Christine Gonzales (Revolve); Guido O. A Melo (Melko); Natacha Melie (MelieStore.com); and Anna Jasper and Charlotte Lenton (Sanddollar).
The journalists invited to see the Rio de Janeiro-based brands and Brazilian textile and apparel industry are Akiko Achikawa, from Japan’s The Senken Newspaper and Vogue Japan; Marco Corral, from Vogue Mexico and Glamour Latin America; and Rosario Marabito, from the Milano Finanza and Vogue Italian Talents media channels.
Fashion shows by established brands and up and coming talent are also on the schedule at Veste Rio, as well as talks, workshops and an exposition celebrating the 15 year career of designer Isabela Capeto. The agenda for the international guests includes activities such as a trip to the Farm and Lokalwear stores and visits to the Coletivo Carandai 25 Showroom and SENAI Cetiqt (Chemical and Textile Industry Technology Center at Senai) spaces.
